Parents of kids with challenges have such a hard job to know when to protect and know when to let go... just a little. The kids must have a little freedom to discover themselves and the world. There are so many kids with special abilities that often go unnoticed because the parents are so busy managing their lives day by day. As a person with a disability who had protective parents who did not let go, I know what I'm talking about. They are doing a disservice because in the long run the kid will never get the chance to self-discover. How does one express this without angering the parent?
